Everyone working at the centre is committed to delivering the highest quality medical care to their patients as quickly and conveniently as possible. By adopting the Advanced Access Imitative, we have ensured that patients can be seen by a doctor or nurse on the day of their request. As a training practice they have a GP registrar by working with them for a period of a year. He or she is a fully qualified doctor often with considerable experience in other areas of medicine who is also completing general practice training. There is a 44-bed hospital that opened in 1995 and is located beside the General Medical Centre in King Street. There is also a 24-ward accessed by the general practitioners for the acute care of their own patients. The hospital services include x-ray, occupational therapy and physiotherapy departments and a day care area. The minor injuries unit is located immediately to the left upon entering the hospital. Those patients who have suffered accidents or injuries should attend here at all times.
