James SquareIf you want to climb a mountain, climb away as there are so many wonderful scenic walks that you will not know where to start! Forget about having to hunt around for spectacular scenery and excellent walking opportunities, everywhere you look in this region you’ll be knocked out by awe-inspiring landscapes and truly beautiful pictorial views, yet you would be only an hour’s drive from the fashionable shopping malls in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The quiet valley of Strathearn follows the river Earn from its source at St. Fillans, through the geological fault line separating Highland and Lowland Scotland. Indeed, the historic and ancient town of Crieff is often referred to as ‘The Gateway to the Highlands’.

For those less energetic, however, the region is also home to some of the country’s best Visitor Attractions as well as an appealing array of independent retail shops in ancient Crieff and surrounding villages. This is coupled with a fine selection of relaxed country pubs, excellent bistro restaurants and a superb choice of personalized quiet the more formal occasion.
